About Us

Lambda Delta Phi was founded on the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota in 1958 under the name Nu Sigma Pi. The women of Nu Sigma Pi believed that sororities played an important part in college life and that no girl should be excluded from the Greek system because of superficial discriminations such as race, creed, color, or economic status. They came together with other organizations that held these same beliefs and founded Lambda Delta Phi in 1961 with the goal of non-discrimination.

Today we are the only active chapter of Lambda Delta Phi, but still strive towards our aims & ideals and hold ourselves to high academic standards. We carry on the tradition of having our chapter meetings on Monday nights, celebrating a winter formal, and partaking in social service and philanthropy.
